Information for Students

The Department of Geology at Appalachian State University offers an undergraduate program respected across the country for the outstanding quality our graduates. The students we have trained have excelled in some of the top graduate schools and gone on to challenging and rewarding careers in government and private industry. We offer traditional Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees in Geology, along with a Bachelor of Science in Geology (Environmental Concentration) and a Bachelor of Science in Geology that leads to an Earth Science Teaching certification, the only program of its kind in North Carolina.
