Mrs. Dancy has been a part of the Appalachian Geology Department since 2002. Prior to this, she was a graduate student and taught at North
Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina. She has taught courses in Physical Geology and Applied Geology and Igneous and
Metamorphic Petrology labs. Mrs. Dancy's particular interests are in mineralogy, lava/magma crystallization, geochemistry, and pluton
emplacement. Additionally, she serves as the departmental Earth Science week coordinator, co-chairperson of the Pit committee, and serves
on the Faculty-Student Liason committee.
